                                      The Statue of Liberty




The statue of liberty or freedom illuminating the world's one of the greatest monuments of the United States.
It is located in New York, on Liberty Island.

The Statue of Liberty, which opened in 1986, is a gift from France to the United States as a sign of friendship and also to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the American Declaration of Independence.

The idea comes from the French professor and lawyer Edouard de Laboulaye. In 1871, the project was entrusted to the French sculptor Auguste Bartholdi. Bartholdi will appeal to Gustave Eiffel, who know the celebrity after the construction of the Eiffel Tower in 1889.

It declares national monument October 15, 1924. In 1933 she was assigned to the National Park Service. Since 1984, the Statue of Liberty is part of the World Heritage.

In addition to being a beautiful monument, the Statue of Liberty has become a symbol of freedom and empowerment for millions of people.

In 1986, the famous Liberty Weekend, which symbolizes the centennial of the statue, the festival lasts four days.

Since 1886, its the first vision of immigrants came to live their American dream. They see it as a better life for them and it symbolizes the beginning of a new life.

If you go to NYC, do not forget to go visit the Statue of Liberty. This is done by boat, which is very nice and the statue is very impressive with its height. Nearby you will find a souvenir shop.
